By Car

From BC Ferries at Swartz Bay Terminal—approx. 35–40 minutes:
From the ferry terminal, follow Highway 17 South (Patricia Bay Highway) toward Victoria. Continue straight as the highway becomes Blanshard Street, then follow signs toward the Inner Harbour/James Bay. Turn right onto Belleville Street and continue into James Bay.

From Black Ball Ferry—approx. 1 minute:
Turn left on Belleville Street, turn right on Menzies Street. In 140 metres, turn right to arrive at the Embassy Inn.

From elsewhere on Vancouver Island:
Most routes into Victoria connect to Highway 1 or Highway 17, both of which lead directly toward downtown Victoria and the Inner Harbour. From downtown, follow signs for James Bay and the Legislative Buildings.

By Air
Arrive by plane, seaplane, or helicopter, with convenient connections bringing you right into the heart of Victoria.

From Victoria International Airport (YYJ):
Victoria International Airport is approximately 30 km north of downtown Victoria. Visitors can reach the Embassy Inn by taxi, ride-share, or public transit, with BC Transit service connecting the airport to downtown Victoria via Sidney

From Harbour Air & Seair
Harbour Air and Seair offer direct seaplane service to Victoria’s Inner Harbour from Vancouver and select coastal destinations.
From the Victoria Harbour and Seair terminals, the Embassy Inn is approximately a 15-minute walk or a short taxi ride away, taking you through the heart of the Inner Harbour.

Helijet offers frequent helicopter service between downtown Vancouver and Victoria, arriving at the Victoria Harbour Heliport.
From the terminal, the Embassy Inn is just a few minutes away by taxi or approximately a 15-minute walk along the waterfront.
By Public Transit & On Foot
Victoria’s bus system, operated by BC Transit, connects the ferry terminal, airport and many communities across Vancouver Island to downtown Victoria.

From Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal:
Take the 70 or 72 bus (Swartz Bay/Downtown Express) directly to downtown Victoria. From there, it’s a short walk or quick transfer to James Bay.

From Victoria International Airport (YYJ):
Take the 88 bus from the airport to Sidney, then transfer to the 70 bus toward downtown Victoria.
Once downtown, several local routes travel through the James Bay neighbourhood, and the Embassy Inn is also within walking distance of the Inner Harbour transit stops.

From FRS Clipper Ferry—approx. 3-minute walk:
The Embassy Inn is a three-minute walk from the FRS Clipper Ferry terminal. Walk up Menzies Street for three minutes, and the hotel will be on your right.

By Bike
Victoria is one of Canada’s most bike-friendly cities, with an extensive network of protected cycling routes.

From Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal:
Cyclists can follow the Lochside Regional Trail, a scenic multi-use path that runs from Sidney all the way into downtown Victoria. From downtown, continue along the waterfront toward James Bay and the Inner Harbour.
At the end of your ride, you can store your bicycle in our secure indoor storage on site.
